My family came in town from Tennessee this week for Thanksgiving and we've had the best time. Today we visited the Broad Museum in Downtown LA. I've been excited to check out this new museum for some time.
I love museums. They're one of my favorite things to do. I get so inspired when I'm surrounded by art, and I especially love the conversation provocative art facilitates. The Broad was no disappointment. It stimulated all kind of debate between my husband and my parents and myself. It was challenging and radical, but also bright and fun.
I go to museums a lot and as someone who loves fashion, I definitely think about what kind of outfit I wear when I go, I mean I'll be on my feet all day you know? I want to be comfortable (always) but also effortless and chic. So here are a few tips for your next museum outing:
- Find comfortable shoes. I really like low or no-healed booties. Some cute kicks would be good too as long as they're not too loud.
- Dress warmly. It's always chilly in museums so I like a good sweater dress or leather jacket and tee with jeans.
- Dress simply. You're the spectator not the art. No need to try and compete.
- Let the museum inspire your outfit. I knew the Broad would be quirky and bright and fun, so I chose a cream sweater dress but added some funky, muted green tights for a unexpected, funky twist.
Check out my conscious closets ootd along with some of my favorite highlights of LA's newest museum. Enjoy!
